Who Are They
Kids Clinic started over 20 years ago in Whitby Ontario. They are dedicated to improving the lives of children through medical and psychiatric care of children. As a longstanding local practice who was expanding to new locations, they wanted to resource IT consultants to ensure they stayed on the cutting edge of medical technology in their new offices.
Why Did they Call?
The Kids Clinic was based in Whitby, but they approached us 4 or 5 years ago to set up a new clinic in Ajax.
With the start of the new clinic, The Kids Clinic felt it was time to update their old systems to create an easier working experience for the medical team and a better medical experience for their patients.
They wanted state of the art technology and to switch to an Apple-based system. For years, they had been using 3 or 4 different IT companies who used IBM-based systems and they seemed to be throwing a lot of money at issues that didn’t seem to get resolved.
We were recommended based on our expertise and specialty in working both within medical clinics and with Apple Computers.
Our Solutions
With the setup of a new Clinic, the client was looking for a lot of consultation and initial set up of their workspace. Here’s how we helped!
- Device and Workstation Start – The Kids Clinic was using outdated IBM systems, that didn’t provide the easy user experience that Apple Computers could. Not only that, but these IBM systems were a lot more expensive to purchase and maintain. We consulted on the implementation of a new Apple-based ecosystem which ended up making everything work together faster, easier and with less cost overall. All the computers and productivity tools were interconnected throughout the office, and any new devices added are now able to be completely set up with a zero touch approach. Everything the clinic needs to do their work is now ready on new computers right out of the box.
- EMR Start – Having easy access to record and review patient records was very important to the client. We helped Kids Clinic with the implementation and set up of their Electronic Medical Record system that played well with Apple and made the process of client management more seamless. We made sure client data was transferred and stored securely within the new system.
- Ongoing AlaryCare – After our initial setup and switch of the clinic, we onboarded the Kids Clinic as a monthly AlaryCare client providing ongoing technical customer service and proactive security and software upgrades adding longevity to their systems.
